My Proud Story...

My career began when I was hired by Manpower to fill-in at the Quakertown Community Hospital Department of Pharmacy in October 1989. It was interesting and exciting to see how medications were prepared for patients. In November, an opening for a part-time position as a pharmacy technician became available. I was hired and worked as a technician for 12 years. My boss at the time encouraged me to go to pharmacy school. I started classes in 1992 (pre-pharmacy) at age 43. I graduated from the Wilkes University Nesbitt School of Pharmacy and Nursing in 2005 at age 56. It’s never too late to learn or help others. I love my profession, especially when I can talk with patients and their families and try to help them with their medication regimens. I started at St. Luke’s Allentown in August 2005. That fall, I had the ultimate opportunity to impact a patient and their family by volunteering to visit their home after discharge and sorting through their medications. They were so grateful. I was rewarded by their look of relief. I will continue to help as long as I am able.
