Application Tips

Transitional year

Dear Applicant:
Thank you for your interest in the St. Luke’s Transitional Year Program. Below are some FAQs to help guide your application process:

How to apply to our program?
All applications must be submitted through ERAS. Search for number 9994100104.

Do you offer externships or observerships?
Due to our commitment to train Temple/St. Luke’s medical students and osteopathic students, we are unable to offer externships/observerships.

What are the criteria for interviews?
Applications are carefully reviewed and a candidate’s performance is evaluated in its entirety. Applicants should have passed their Step examinations on the first attempt. USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 CK must be successfully completed before start of internship. Osteopathic candidates are required to submit their COMLEX 1 and 2 scores. For international medical graduates, US clinical experience is preferred, but not required.

What is your process for offering interviews?
We realize the process of interviewing is expensive and time consuming. To make the process easier for you, interviews are offered through an electronic program called Interview Broker. The entire interview schedule is available for you to select the date and session (am/pm) that works best for your schedule. You may change that date up to seven days prior to the interview. Up to six Transitional Year Residency positions are offered through the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP). Our NRMP program number is 1605999P0.

What is the deadline for applications?
The deadline for ERAS applications is November 30th.

Sincerely,

Debra DeCaro
